A first term full of impact

The start of 2024 is in full swing and as we set the tone for a jam-packed year ahead, we’ve been taking a look back at the impact our coaching programme had at some of our partner universities last term.

Within the first term of university alone, our coaching programme and our wonderful team of coaches have supported university students to create support networks, get involved in university life and gain confidence. We’re so proud of the progress our students have already made. We know students from underrepresented backgrounds can face additional challenges in the transition to university and we’re thrilled to see how our coaching programme has supported students through this.

A key component of the Bridging Project’s coaching programme is feedback; we regularly seek feedback from students, universities and our coaches. This included an end of term feedback form from our students in December which we’re pleased to share below!

University of Cambridge, Murray Edwards College

Key stats:

  • 100% of students feel we have influenced the development of their soft skills to some extent

  • 86% of students feel we have helped them to access support at university

  • 86% of students feel we have helped them to engage in university life

University of Oxford, Trinity College

Key stats:

  • 100% of students plan to continue their studies next year at the University of Oxford

  • 100% of students feel we have influenced their sense of belonging at uni

  • 100% of students can set goals and problem solve

University of Nottingham

Key stats:

  • 86% of students feel we have helped them to engage in university life

Looking ahead to the rest of the academic year

The results of our impact surveys show so much promise, so we can’t wait to see what our students continue to achieve with support from our coaching programme this term and into the summer months.

If you’re interested in finding out how your university could benefit from a coaching programme to support your underrepresented students then get in touch, we’d love to hear from you!
